The American Institute of Wine & Food’s mission is not only to raise money for food and wine scholarships for local culinary schools, but to create a positive impact in the community via educational initiatives geared toward making our next generation one that is happy, healthy and well-nourished. Their Days of Taste series is a discovery-based program for fourth and fifth grade children to learn about food and how it weaves its way through daily life from the farm to the table.
The program teams up chefs, food professionals, farmers and teachers to guide elementary school children through an exploration of food and nutrition, giving them the opportunity to discuss, savor and compare different taste sensations and flavor from locally grown foods. http://www.aiwf.org/site/days-of-taste.html
